Women's Basketball Finishes the Week 3-0

The Eagles took on NCCAA D1 Ecclesia College on Friday in a noncoference matchup.
Coming off of a slow game earlier in the week, Faith bounced back and played their style, scoring 5 seconds into the game and leading for all 40 minutes. Although Ecclesia battled in the first half and managed to stick around, only trailing by eight points at the half, the Eagles came out of halftime and put the game away by outscoring the Royals 27-7. From there, the Eagles kept the lead through the final ten minutes and earned the 74-50 victory. Katie Costello (19 points, 14 rebounds), Miriam Beenken (18 points, 17 rebounds), and Mikayla Jones (14 points, 10 assists) all recorded double-doubles to pace the Eagles in their commanding victory over the Royals.
Saturday saw the Warriors from Calvary University come to town.
After suffering a disappointing loss to the Warriors earlier in the season, Faith came out with a vengeance and would not be stopped in their efforts to win. Calvary struck first, running out to a 7-4 lead early in the game, and the two teams battled through 3 ties before the Eagles went on a 7-0 run in the final 1:23 of the first quarter to take a lead they would not give up for the rest of the game. Mikayla Jones put an early exclamation point on the win as she hit a deep 3pt buzzer-beater at the eand of the third, giving the Eagles their final momentum boost to head into the last ten minutes. Katie Costello (21 points), Mikayla Jones (18 points, 9 assists), and Miriam Beenken (13 points, 14 rebounds) once again led the Eagles as all players scored and the team recorded 19 assists and 19 steals on their way to knocking off the #5 team in the Nation.
