The Eagles traveled to Plymouth, MN over the weekend for their first games of the 2024-25 basketball season, competing against FLBC on both Friday and Saturday.
Friday's game saw a trio of freshmen lead scoring for the Eagles, as they led by as many as 24 points throughout the game. Katie Costello (26 pts/14 reb) and Miriam Beenken (13 pts/13 reb) recorded their first career double-doubles, Erica Sovereign added 12 points and 6 steals, and the Eagles closed out a tight game to earn their first win of the season, 72-58 over the Conquerors.
Saturday saw a similar outcome as Faith looked to improve shooting percetages and make adjustments from the previous day. Mikayla Jones took control of the game, leading all scorers with 22 points, including a perfect 8/8 from the free throw line, all coming in the final 45 seconds to seal the victory. Beenken recorded her second double-double in as many games with 16 points and 15 rebounds.
UP NEXT: The Eagles play their first home game of the season as they host Grand View's JV squad for an exhibition game on Monday, November 11th at 5:00 PM.
