Eagles go 1-1 on a Tune Up Week Between Regionals

On Tuesday, the Eagles took on the Warriors from Union College for the 2nd time this season.

The Eagles were at home this week on Tuesday and Friday as they had two games between their conference and regional tournament. While these games counted for their overall record, they did not count towards regional seeding.

Ankeny, IA- This game pretty much went the way the first meeting went as the Warriors dominated the Eagles from the jump.

Since the Eagles had the region tournament to think about, Head Coach Brian Fincham put in the subs early which caused the Warriors lead to grow even more. In the end, the Warriors defeated the Eagles 75-51. Andy Hecker led the Eagles in scoring with 12 points and James Busenitz chipped in with 10 points.

On Friday, the Eagles took on the Conquerors from Free Lutheran Bible College for the 2nd time this season. Like the game before, Head Coach Brian Fincham used this game to rest his starters and give other players a chance to get experience.

The Eagles dominated the young Conquers from the opening tip. The Eagles scored with ease while the Conquers had trouble scoring as their starters scored all of their points. The final buzzer sounded as the Eagles cruised to a 91-51 victory over the Conquerors.

Senior Josh Forgie had a career game as he scored a career high 14 points. Jon Walter also chipped in 10 points. The Eagles end their final home game of the season with a 9-18 record (6-8 in MCCC play). Next week, the Eagles need to play their best basketball as they head to North Dakota to play in the NCCAA North Region tournament. On Thursday they will take on the Pilots from Providence University College at 3pm CST.
