Eagles Fall to North Region Opponent
The Eagles were at home this past Tuesday taking on a NCAA Division 3 opponent, the Polars from Crown College.
Ankeny, IA - The Polars had knocked the Eagles out of Regionals in the two teams previous meeting.
The 1st half started out in the Polars favor. The Polars guard Cade Carroll knocked down an early 3 pointer and floater to jumpstart them to an early 5-0 lead. The Eagles kept the game within 10 points for the 1st 10 minutes of the half. In the final 10 minutes of the half, the Polars grew their lead and went into halftime leading the Eagles 42-26.
The 2nd half began much like the 1st half ended as the Polars continued to expand their lead. With 7 minutes to play, both the Eagles and the Polars pulled their starters as both teams have very important games coming up this weekend for their respective conferences. In the end, the Polars beat the Eagles 97-55. This non conference loss pushes the Eagles record down to 5-12 (3-5 in MCCC play).
Jared Pearson led the Eagles with 15 points and Landon Brahs chipped in 12 points. The Eagles are back in action on the road this weekend for two big MCCC matches against the Bears from Barclay College at 7pm CST on Friday and the Thunder from Manhattan Christian College on Saturday at 2pm CST.
