Eagles Fall on the Road to the Warriors
The Eagles were on the road in Lincoln, Nebraska on Monday as they faced the Warriors from Union College.
Lincoln, NE - The Eagles were coming off 2 wins in a row and were looking to extend their winning streak.
The 1st half was a disaster for the Eagles. They could not buy a basket and the Warriors were hitting 3 after 3 as the Warriors jumped to an early 22-6 lead with 10 minutes left to play in the first half. The Eagles were able to tighten up the defense and held the Warriors to only 8 points over the final 10 minutes, but, the Eagles' scoring struggles continued. The Warriors went into the half leading 30-13 as the Eagles did not make a single 3-point shot in the half.
The 2nd half was much like the 1st, as the Warriors lead ballooned. The Eagles could not generate much on offense and the Warriors looked just as sharp as they did in the 1st half. In the end, the Warriors dominated the game and won 79-42.
This loss snaps the Eagles 2 game win streak and drops the Eagles to 5-10 overall (3-4 in MCCC play). The Eagles are back home this Saturday as they take on a conference opponent, the Ambassadors from Ozark Christian College at 3pm CST and look to avenge a 103-47 loss earlier in the season.
