Eagles Fall to #2 Knights
The Eagles faced off against the #2 ranked Spurgeon College Knights this past Saturday for their final game of the first semester.
Ankeny, IA - Faith came into the game hoping to end the semester with an upset over the top-ranked Knights, while the Knights were hoping to end a two-game losing streak.
Right away the Knights showed why they are a top 5 team, as they opened with a 13-0 lead, which they stretched out to a 23-5 lead with a jumper from Knights guard Jude Warren. The Eagles were able to cut the Knight's lead to 13 at one point but the Knights quickly went on another run of their own as the Knights went into halftime leading 55-35. In the second half, Faith pulled within 14 with twelve minutes left, but that was as close as they would get as the Knights closed the game on a tear and defeated the Eagles 105-68.
The Eagles Desmond Conway scored 16 points and Freshman Landon Brahs added 15 points. This loss drops the Eagles to a 3-5 record (1-0 in MCCC play) heading into Christmas break.
Faith's next game will be at home on January 12th against the Bears from Barclay College at 8pm CST. The developmental team will also play on the 12th at 12:00pm against Barclay College.
