Eagle's Pick up Conference Win on the Road
The Eagles were on the road this Tuesday as they faced the other Eagles in the MCCC from Emmaus Bible College.
Faith was hoping to earn the regular season series sweep after defeating Emmaus earlier in the season.
The 1st half was back and forth from the start as both teams traded early baskets. With 10 minutes left in the 1st half, the Eagles took the lead and continued to build it. The Eagles forced Emmaus into 13 1st half turnovers and they went into halftime leading Emmaus 33-26.
In the 2nd half, the Eagles grew their lead to 13 with a layup from Parker Lundberg. It looked as if the Eagles were going to run away with the game, but Emmaus fought hard and got back into the game and cut the Eagles lead to 4 points with a 3 pointer from Josh Stewart with just over 2 minutes remaining in the game. With a few late defensive stops and some clutch free throws, the Eagles were able to weather the storm and get the victory 72-64.
James Busenitz had a career night as he finished with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Freshman guards Landon Brahs and Parker Lundberg had 15 points and 10 points as the Eagles improved to 6-14 overall (4-7 in MCCC play).
The Eagles next games are this Friday and Saturday on the road as they face the Saints from Central Christian College of the Bible at 7pm CST and the 7th ranked Knights from Spurgeon College at 2pm CST.
