Eagles Come Up Short on the Road

The Eagles were on the road this past weekend as they faced the Warriors from Calvary University and the Ambassadors from Ozark Christian College.

A cold shooting second half Friday night, and struggles on both ends of the court on Saturday found the Eagles coming up short in both games.

On Friday night against the Warriors, the Eagles got off to a hot start in the 1st half sharing the ball and knocking down numerous 3s. The Eagles were able to go into the half leading by 11. The 2nd half was a different story. As the Eagle's legs started to go, the Warriors started to heat up on the offensive end. The Eagles did not shoot nearly as well in the 2nd half and had a harder time stopping the Warriors from scoring. The Warriors were able to pull off the comeback and ended up beating the Eagles 86-80 and avenging their earlier season loss at Faith.

The next day, the Eagles had a quick turnaround as they faced the Ambassadors from Ozark Christian College. This game was not nearly as exciting for the Eagles or the fans as the previous game.

The Ambassadors came to play and dominated the game from the opening tip to the final buzzer. The Eagles were held to under 30 points in the first half and the Ambassadors scored over 40. The 2nd half was much like the 1st as the Eagles were not able to do much on offense or defense. The final buzzer sounded as the Ambassadors defeated the Eagles 103-47.

The losses drop the Eagles to 3-9 on the season (1-4 in MCCC play). The Eagles will need to get some things figured out quickly, as they have a quick turnaround to face the Emmaus Bible College at home on Tuesday at 6 pm CST.
