(Kansas City, MO) - The Faith Eagles women's volleyball team continued their winning streak with a decisive three-set victory over Spurgeon College in Kansas City, MO.
The Eagles improved to 2-0 on the season, defeating Spurgeon with set scores of 25-19, 25-22, and 25-11.
Despite facing a loud and energetic crowd, the Eagles remained unfazed, delivering a well-rounded performance. Codie Wirges once again led the team with 12 kills, while Audrey Glandon added 10 kills to the effort. Victoria Nerem was outstanding in her dual role, contributing 20 assists and an impressive 24 digs, ensuring the Eagles maintained control throughout the match. Maddie Hodak also played a crucial role, delivering 3 service aces that kept Spurgeon off balance.
The first set saw the Eagles take a steady lead, finishing 25-19. The second set was more competitive, with Spurgeon pushing back, but Faith held strong to secure a 25-22 win. The Eagles dominated the third set, cruising to a 25-11 victory and sealing the match.
Faith's next challenge will come on Friday, September 6, at 5 p.m. when they face Trinity Bible College at North Central University in Minneapolis, MN. The Eagles will look to continue their early-season success as they aim to build on their strong start.
