ANKENY, Iowa—The Faith Eagles women's soccer team completed a perfect Homecoming Weekend for Eagles Athletics teams on Saturday with a 3-1 win over Grand View University JV. The win gave Faith a perfect 5-0 record between men's and women's soccer and volleyball for Faith's fans that were here on Friday and Saturday for Homecoming festivities.
The Eagles broke out of their scoring slump on Saturday with a quick goal at the 12:20 mark on a header from Allison Yuan to put the Eagles up 1-0. After halftime, Faith finally began to finish at the goal, getting scores from Brenna Penrod and Robyn Kitchen to stretch the lead to 3-0. Grand View scored their only goal with less than ten minutes to play making the final score 3-1 in favor of the Eagles.
Faith enters a critical stretch to end its season as it tries to position itself for a good seed in regional play. The Eagles play back-to-back games next week against Grace Christian University in Ankeny on Thursday and Friday, October 21 and 22. Grace is currently the number two ranked team in NCCAA Division II.
