Warriors Even Season Series vs the Eagles
(Lincoln, NE) - Faith men's basketball travelled to Lincoln, NE for a rematch against Union Adventist University.
The Eagles were back on the road Tuesday to play the Warriors after defeating them 81-80 earlier in the season with late game heroics from Faith guard Parker Lundberg.
Tuesday night the Warriors were looking to even the series. The 1st half started in Union's favor as they jumped to an early lead. As the half went on, both teams were struggling to score but the Eagles seemed to be having an even harder time. Late in the half the Eagles chipped the Warriors double digit lead to single digits, but Union would go into the halftime break leading 34 to 27.
The 2nd half seemed like a repeat of the 1st half as both teams were able to score at will. Union managed to continue building their lead until the 7 minute mark, when the Eagles put on a press and played at a much higher tempo than the warriors could handle. With the help of multiple 3s from Landon Brahs and Mason Gorsh, the Eagles quickly cut the double digit lead to 3 points. Despite the Eagles valiant comeback, the Warriors hung on and avenged their earlier season loss winning 98 to 91.
Mason Gorsh led the Eagles with a season high 30 points, with Landon Brahs and Josh Baucum adding 18 and 14 points respectively.
The Eagles are back at home this Friday as they take on the Conquerors from Free Lutheran Bible College at 7:30pm CST.
