Eagles Complete Sweep of Warriors

Faith faced Calvary for the second time this season, as they had previously defeated the Warriors in Kansas City. From the start of the game, the Eagles came out playing with something to prove. Faith's lead slowly grew over the 1st half and they went into halftime leading 42-28.
The Warriors proved to be a tough bunch as they chipped away at the Eagles lead early in the 2nd half. They got it down to 9 points right away but the Eagles responded and pushed the lead back to 15. The rest of the half Faith controlled the lead as it fluctuated between 15-20 points. In the end, the Eagles defeated the Warriors in commanding fashion, 87-68.
Mason Gorsh led the way for the Eagles with 23 points (8-11 shooting) and Parker Lundberg scored a season high 18 points. This win boosts the Eagles win record above 500 and currently places them at 10-9 overall (4-3 in MCCC play).
On Friday night the Eagles hosted the Royals from Ecclesia College. The Royals, an NCCAA division 1 opponent.
The 1st half went in the Eagles favor as they slowly built a lead. Heading into halftime, Faith had solid control of the game and led 38-30.
The second half started slow as both teams combined for 10 turnovers in the first 4:30 of the half. The momentum slowly shifted in the favor of the Royals, as they battled back and pushed their lead to 14 points 9 minutes to go. The Eagles woke up and gave a courageous effort in the final minutes, but unfortunately, their efforts fell short and the Royals secured their 1st win of the season 87-80, dropping the Eagles record to 9-9. Mason Gorsh and Seth Freeman led the way with 19 and 17 points.
The Eagles next contest is at home on Tuesday, January 28th as they face the 7th ranked Knights from Spurgeon College at 6pm CST.
