Men's Basketball Falls to Emmaus on the Road.
(Dubuque, IA) - Faith men's basketball started hot but finished cold in the rematch against Emmaus.
The Eagles were on the road Monday night, competing against the Eagles from Emmaus University. Faith was looking to avenge an earlier season loss to Emmaus 103-90.
Emmaus jumped out to an early 18-13 lead. The rest of the half was back and forth as each team exchanged leads numerous times. Neither team could seem to get an edge as they went into halftime tied 34-34.
The 2nd half was much like the 1st, while Faith managed to maintain a small lead for most of the half. The Eagles 1-2-2 press and 3-2 half court zone gave Emmaus problems and even gave the Eagles 56-49 lead with 8 minutes remaining. Unfortunately for Faith, they only scored 4 points in the final 4:50 and ended up losing their lead and the game 75-64.
The Eagles dominated the glass collecting 19 offensive rebounds. Unfortunately, they turned the ball over 17 times and they shot a dismal 33 percent from the field and 18 percent from 3 which ultimately led to their demise. Mason Gorsh led the Eagles in scoring with 16 points.
This loss drops the Eagles to 10-12 overall (4-5 in MCCC play). The Eagles next contest is on the road at Central Christian College of the Bible on Friday at 7pm CST.
