Men's Basketball Falls to Kuyper
(Dubuque, IA) - Faith men's basketball took the court against Kuyper College in their final game before Christmas break.
The Eagles played a neutral site game in Dubuque on Friday as they took on the Cougars from Kuyper College. The Eagles were looking to avenge an earlier season loss as Kuyper took the first matchup, 92-73.
The 1st half stayed close early as neither team could pull away, but around the 12 minute mark of the 1st half the Cougars went on a run to lead 26-16 with 8 minutes left to play. The Eagles responded and cut the Cougars lead to 4, heading into the break trailing 39-35.
The 2nd half was all Cougars as they extended their lead to 21 points off a 19-2 run to start the half. Unfortunately for the Eagles, Kuyper kept the momentum and the lead through the rest of the game and came away with the Friday night victory in Dubuque.
Mason Gorsh led the Eagles with 19. Andy Hecker and Josh Baucum added 17 and 15 points. With the loss, Faith is now 6-5 on the season (1-1 in MCCC play) heading into the break. The Eagles have about a month off for Christmas break, but look to bounce back in the new year as they will take on the Warriors from Calvary University on Friday January 10 at 6pm CST.
