
Eagles Flip the Script for the Road Win
(Moberly, MO) - Faith Men's Basketball brought home the win and the season sweep over CCCB.
The Eagles were on the road Friday night, competing against the Saints from Central Christian College of the Bible. Following an early January win over the Saints, 75-57, the Eagles were looking to complete the season sweep over CCCB.
The first four minutes saw both teams battling back and forth, changing leads, and trading baskets until a goahead fastbreak layup from Cade Cooper put Faith on top, giving them a lead they would never give up. The Eagles built a small lead, going into halftime up 42-34.
Coming out of the break the Eagles knew the rest of the game would be a battle to the finish. Both teams came out on fire, scoring a combined 28 points in the first four minutes of the half. Heading into crunch timewith an 8 point lead, the Eagles put the game away with a huge offensive possession that saw four offensive rebounds before an eventual made three pointer which gave Faith the 11 point lead and all of the momentum they needed to close out the game.
The Eagles recorded 21 assists to a semester low 11 turnovers, while pulling down a massive 16 offensive rebounds on the night. 5 players scored double-digits, led by Mason Gorsh with 15 points and 4 steals, with Seth Freeman adding 14 points and 6 assists.
With the win, the Eagles move to 11-12 overall (5-5 in MCCC play). The Eagles next contest is on the road at Spurgeon on Tuesday at 6pm CST.
