Eagles Split on 1st Road Double Header of the New Year

(Kansas City, MO) - The Eagles took the road to play for the first time in 4 weeks as they took on the Warriors from Calvary University.

The 1st half was a defensive battle and was one of the most physical games of the season. Neither team could seem to find an offensive rhythm. The halftime score barely reached the 20s as the Eagles had a slight edge 26-22.

The 2nd half, the floodgates opened offensively as both teams exchanged blows and nearly doubled their first half production. The Warriors managed to take a one point lead late in the half but in the end, the Eagles hung on and defeated their conference foe 71-60.

The Eagles recorded a balanced scoring affair as 10 players scored. Sophomore guard Mason Gorsh led the way with 23 points and Freshman guard Cade Cooper scored a career high 16 points, adding 5 rebounds and 3 steals.

The Eagles could not celebrate for long as a quick turnaround saw them face the Ozark Christian College Ambassadors the next day. The Ambassadors came into the game undefeated in the conference and having only lost one game on the season.

In the beginning of the 1st half the Eagles battled keeping the game within single digits. After the 10 minute mark, Ozark pulled ahead and Faith went into halftime trailing 29-45.

The 2nd half was much like the first. The Ambassadors dominant backcourt and strong front court was too much for the Eagles to handle. In the end, the Ambassadors proved yet again to be a top team in the nation as they trounced the Eagles 83-55.

After the weekend the Eagles moved to 7-6 (2-2 in MCCC play).
