
Lady Eagles Fall Short Against Top Ten Polars
The Eagles went toe to toe against NCCAA II North Region opponent Crown College in Tuesday’s match up.
Ankeny, IA - This game was the first time the Eagle's have seen the Polars from Crown College this season.
Coming into the game, the Eagle's took a minute to find their footing and to gather their composure. Down 19-10 at the end of the first quarter, the Eagle's fought back and won the second quarter cutting into the Polar's lead to make it 26-30 going into the half. Both teams found themselves in a bit of a scoring rut as the Eagle's only scored 9 in the third quarter and the Polars 10. The Eagle's were unable to build out from this deficit and lost the fourth quarter 19-7, finishing the game 42-59.
The Eagle's were led in scoring by freshman Codie Wirges with 13 points and 4 steals, followed by Rachel Forgie with 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks, Whitney Wacker with 6 points, and 10 rebounds, and Mikayla Jones with 6 points, 4 assists.
