Ankeny, IA- Faith's Friday night matchup was an intense North Region opponent, the Trinity Lions from Ellendale, ND. The Eagles came out strong, with freshman guard Emma Boldt getting an early 4 points and junior forward Tina Harms coming in and scoring 4 late. The first quarter was neck and neck, with the Eagles ending the 10 minutes leading 12-8. Using the first quarter's energy, the Eagles scored another 12 points to lead 24-19 going into halftime.
The Lions did not back down. The two teams traded jumpshots, with the Lions inching their way into the lead. Tying the game at the 5 minute mark of the third quarter, the Lions outscored the Eagles 21-16. With the scoring picking up significantly from both teams in the second half, the teams entered the 4th quarter deadlocked at 40.
Both teams traded punches in the 4th, with Mikayla Jones for the Eagles and Kayleigh Mannering for the Lions leading the way scoring for the teams in the 4th. The game came down to the last minute, with the Lions taking the lead on an and-1 layup from Mannering. The Eagles were unable to find an open shot in the last 13 seconds as the Lions prevailed with a 57-55 win.

The Eagles played their second game of the weekend against a new opponent, Kuyper College.
Kuyper came out strong, getting up on the Eagles 21-15 at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter was a nightmare for the Eagles, as they were unable to figure out the Cougars defense and were held to just 3 points while shooting 0-13 from the field. This gave the Cougars a 33-18 halftime lead. Even with some great energy coming out of halftime, and good scoring from Mikayla Jones in the 3rd quarter with 6 points, the Eagles were unable to overcome the Cougars first half lead. The Cougars finished off the game well in the 4th quarter and walked away with a 61-45 win.
The Eagles were led by Rachel Forgie with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while the Cougars were led by Jakya Rimspon with 17 points and 10 rebounds. The Eagles had great contribution from freshman Emma Boldt with 10 points, 4 steals and 4 rebounds.
The Eagles are back in action after Thanksgiving break traveling to Ellsworth Community College for a 5:00 pm matchup against the Panthers.
