Mixed Results in the MCCC Tournament

(Joplin, MO) - Faith men's soccer took part in the Midwest Christian College Conference Tournament over the weekend.

The Eagles faced tough challenges during the MCCC Tournament over the weekend, starting with a semifinal match against top-seeded Barclay, where they fell 3-0. Barclay's offense proved strong, recording 16 shots on goal, but the Eagles' goalkeeper, Enzo Pileggi, delivered a stellar defensive performance, achieving a career-high 13 saves to keep Faith competitive. However, Faith struggled offensively, managing just two shots on goal. Barclay would go on to win the Tournament title on Saturday.

In Saturday's consolation match against CCCB, Faith looked to bounce back from Friday's loss. The Eagles outshot the Saints, recording eight shots on goal compared to CCCB's three, but they couldn't convert their opportunities into points. A single goal by the Saints in the 16th minute proved decisive as Faith fell 1-0.

On Friday, several Eagles were honored with All-Conference awards, as voted on by coaches throughout the MCCC:

Parker Lundberg: 1st Team All-Conference
Andre Quintana: 1st Team All-Conference
Grant Brower: All-Conference Honorable Mention
Zachary Choi: All-Conference Honorable Mention
