Men's Soccer Finishes Regular Season Play With Two Strong Performances

The Eagles put in a strong weekend effort in two competitive matchups, falling to Barclay 1-0 on Friday and securing a 1-1 tie against Manhattan on Saturday.

Facing off against the top team in the conference on Friday, Faith's defense held steady after an early goal from the Bears in the 10th minute. Goalkeeper Enzo Pileggi recorded six saves to keep the Eagles within reach, but Barclay's defense prevented any response from Faith, handing them a narrow loss.

Saturday's game against Manhattan—a rematch of last year's MCCC Championship—was a hard-fought draw, ending 1-1 after regulation. The teams played an evenly matched first half, with neither able to break through, leading to a 0-0 halftime score. Manhattan struck shortly after the break, netting a goal in the 49th minute to take the lead. Faith responded just ten minutes later when Grant Busenitz assisted by Eliott Adomeit, found the back of the net, leveling the score. Faith had another opportunity to pull ahead, successfully getting past Manhattan's defense, but the goal was called back for an offsides call, leaving the score tied. Pileggi delivered another strong performance with five saves and the Eagles completed a well fought weekend to finish the regular season

Before Saturday's match, the Eagles took time to honor their 3 seniors, Grant Brower, Moses Amani, and Cade Sanders. All of whom have contributed heavily to the success of the team in their time at Faith. The Seniors played their final home games over the weekend but will have more opportunities to compete in the coming weeks.
