Men's Soccer Posts Strong Showing Against #9 Emmaus

(Dubuque, IA) - The Faith men's soccer team traveled to Dubuque, IA for a match against the Eagles from Emmaus Bible College.

Faith took the road for what they knew would be an intense matchup against the nationally ranked Emmaus Eagles. In a close match against the #9 team in the NCCAA, Faith contested every offensive attempt from their opponent and were able to take 8 shots of their own. Faith's defense, led by 7 saves from Enzo Pileggi, held their own until Emmaus found a way to score from a corner kick in the 87th minute. While the Eagles were able to take one final shot attempt, it would not fall and the Eagles from Emmaus would walk away with the 1-0 win.

Saturday's match does not count against MCCC records for either team as they look to qualify for the MCC Conference Tournament at the end of the season. The Eagles will look for revenge against Emmaus when they rematch at home on October 1st in a match that counts towards postseason play for both teams.
