Dallas Christian struck first in the 34th minute, but Faith responded swiftly with a diving header from Jermaine Boyd just three minutes later, assisted by Silas Tolosa. The teams went into halftime tied at 1-1.
In the second half, both teams created scoring opportunities. It was Dallas Christian who found the breakthrough, though, when they were awarded a penalty kick in the 67th minute that ultimately decided the match. Faith's goalie, Enzo Pileggi, made an initial save on the PK, but was penalized for being off his line, allowing Dallas to convert on the retake.
Dallas outshot Faith 19-9, but the Eagles showed resilience and determination throughout the match, making it a closely contested battle. Despite the loss, Faith demonstrated their ability to compete against top-ranked teams.
Faith, now 0-1-0, will look to bounce back in their next match on Saturday, August 31, at 5:30 p.m. at home on Pyche Field in Ankeny, IA.
