ANKENY, Iowa--Four weeks after suffering a 6-0 defeat at the hands of Manhattan Christian College, the Eagles saw marked improvement in the rematch on the Eagles' home turf on Saturday. Faith remained within striking distance for the entire 90 minutes, surrendering the game's only goal at the 50-minute mark, early in the second half.
Manhattan dominated the shots and shots on goal with a 20-3 and 13-2 advantage in each category, but Faith held its ground defensively. Sam Carstensen recorded 12 saves for the Eagles.
Faith has just one game remaining in the regular season before conference tournament play begins on Thursday, October 28, hosted by Faith. The Eagles face Emmaus Bible College at 2 p.m. in Dubuque on Saturday to close out its regular season. Faith is 8-4 overall; 5-2 in conference play.
