MOBERLY, Missouri—It has been a streaky season for the Faith Eagles men's soccer team. After winning its first four games to start the year, the team lost three straight, but has righted the ship once again with another four-game winning streak after a 2-0 win over Central Christian College of the Bible (CCCB).
The Eagles beat CCCB 11-0 earlier this season, but the shots weren't connecting as well on Tuesday, despite an incredible shot total of 44, compared to just two for the Saints.
Both of Faith's goals came within three minutes of each other midway through the first half. Moses Amani struck first for the Eagles, followed by a goal from Joseph Conable. The two scores were enough to secure the victory and improved Faith's record to a lofty 5-1 in conference play; 8-3 overall.
The Eagles face one of their most difficult opponents of the year this Saturday in a rematch with Manhattan Christian College. MCC is currently ranked number seven in the nation and defeated Faith 6-0 earlier this season. It will be the final home game of the regular season for Faith. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
