Slow Start Dooms Lady Eagles
The Lady Eagles took on nationally ranked Central Christian College of the Bible (CCCB) Friday night down in Moberly, MO. The Lady Eagles came out very flat, and could not buy a basket in the first half going 7-30 from the field. The Lady Saints on the other hand came out hot and built a huge lead shooting 20-33 in the first half. Alyssa Larson was the one bright spot off the bench in the first half. She had all 6 of her points in the first half. The Lady Saints took a big 44-14 lead into halftime.
The second half was a different story as the Lady Eagles woke up and played much better. Three Lady Eagle players would score double digits in the second half as the Lady Eagles would out score CCCB 41-34. CCCB would collect the win (78-55), as Faith could not overcome the huge halftime deficit. Holly Shepard would lead the way for Faith scoring 19 points. Laura Garwick had all 16 of her points in the second half and finished with 8 rebounds. Ashley Pearson had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lady Eagles hit the road again this coming weekend playing Ozark Christian College on Friday night at 5:30 PM. Then on Saturday Faith will be in Kansas City to take on Calvary Bible College at 2:00 PM.
