Ladies Defeat Union
The Faith Lady Eagles took on Union College from Lincoln, NE last night. Both teams got off to a slow start last night, as the basket seemed to have a lid on it and after the first ten minutes the score was tied 11-11. Both teams finally started making shots the last 10 minutes of the first half. The Lady Eagles would go on a 19-13 run to close the half giving them a 30-24 advantage. Sophomore Alyssa Larson made her home debut and provided a real spark off the bench for the Lady Eagles. She had 4 points and led the team with 8 rebounds in the first half, and would finish the game with a career high 15 rebounds.
Faith started the second half with an 11-2 run, giving them a 15 point lead. Union would battle back and get to within 10 points, but Faith would hang on and win the game with a final score of 45-36. Laura Garwick led the way for the Lady Eagles with 19 points and 16 rebounds. Holly Shepard had 8 points and 4 assists, and Ashley Pearson pulled down 12 boards.
The Lady Eagles will host conference opponent CCCB on Saturday afternoon this weekend. The game is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM.
