Lady Eagle's Season Ends in Regional Semi-Final
The Lady Eagles basketball team ended the season with a 60-44 loss in the regional tournament to Trinity Bible College. Faith finishes the year at 7-16 overall, which is a 3 win improvement over last year. The Lady Eagles were able to earn that improvement despite playing the entire second semester with only 6 ladies. Four of their 7 wins game during the second semester.
The first five minutes of the game started out all wrong for the Lady Eagles as Trinity was able to force many turnovers and score off of many of them. Trinity led 17-3 at the 14:37 mark in the first half. Then the Lady Eagles went on a run of their own over the next ten minutes outscoring Trinity 16-9, making the lead only 7 for the Lady Lions. Trinity would finish the half strong though and took a 38-21 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Faith would calm down and play Trinity to within one point in the second half, but could not overcome the lead Trinity built in the first half. The Lady Eagles would turn the ball over 32 times to Trinity, which was the biggest difference in the game. Ashley Pearson (12pts, 11reb) and Laura Garwick (10pts, 14reb) both collected double-doubles in the contest. Alyssa Larson would score 11 points and chip in 7 rebounds, and both Holly Shepard and Shannon Steffen would dish out 4 assists.
