Ladies Battle Hard, Fall Short
The Faith Lady Eagles took on NCCAA 5th ranked and MCCC conference opponent CCCB on Saturday. Despite a solid effort, the Lady Eagles fell to the highly ranked Lady Saints 50-77. Faith stands at 4-10 overall, and 1-1 in the conference.
The Lady Eagles started out the game slow as CCCB controlled the first ten minutes of the game. The Lady Eagles fought back hard though and went on a 21-12 run the last ten minutes of the first half. Holly Shepard again had a really good first half shooting 3-3 from the 3 point line and 5-6 at the foul line for a halftime total of 14 points.
CCCB would turn up the pressure in the second half and hold the Lady Eagles to 33% shooting, and forced 18 turnovers. Faith would not score the first six minutes of the second half. CCCB outscored Faith 39-19 in the second half as the defensive pressure and foul trouble slowed the Lady Eagles first half efforts down. Holly Shepard would finish with 16 points, 2 assists, and 5 rebounds. Laura Garwick had 13 points and 8 rebounds, and Ashley Pearson would finish with 8 points, 4 assists, and 5 rebounds.
Faith takes on Emmaus Bible College Tuesday night at 5:00 PM.
