The Eagle men fell to 0-2-0 in the Midwest Christian College Conference (MCCC) today as they fell to 3rd ranked Manhattan Christian College. Faith fell by a final of 1-5. The loss drops the Eagles overall record to 1-5-0.
Manhattan cracked the Eagle defens seven minutes into the game, but Faith would re-organize to hold Manhattan scoreless the rest of the half. Faith managed a few scoring chances themselves, but were unable to capitalize, trailing 1-0 at the break. Manhattan came out attacking to start the second, scoring quickly to push the lead to 2-0. Faith was back on their heels for much of the next 30 minutes, as Manhattan's attack was constant. The visiting Crusaders netted two more to take a 4-0 lead during that time. Faith was outshot 16-1 in the second half, but made that one shot count, as freshman Avery Snyder found the back of the net to get Faith on the board. Manhattan added one more to the total before the end of the game for the 5-1 final. Faith was outshot 28-7 in the game. Keeper Michael Craig recorded 12 saves in the loss.
Faith returns to action next Tuesday, September 18, when they will travel to Dubuque, IA for a game with Emmaus Bible College. That game will kick off at 4:00 PM.
