The Eagle men made it three wins in their last four games with a 3-0 shutout of visiting Emmaus Bible College tonight. Faith improves to 5-7-0 on the year with the win.
For the first 30 minutes of the match the game was back and forth, with both teams getting some chances but neither really able to mount any consistent attack. Faith was able to draw first score when substitute Josh Huang put a shot on goal that the Emmaus keeper let slip through his hands. Faith held that 1-0 lead at the break. The second half proved to be stronger for Faith, as they were able to better possess the ball and mount consistent attacks on the Emmaus defense. However, it was still 30 minutes before the Eagles finally cracked the Emmaus defense when freshman Wesley Dicks played the ball to the near post past the keeper for a 2-0 Faith lead. One minute later Jason Scheps scored the Eagles third goal when he put a rebound into the back of the net. Faith then maintained possession and the lead for the final fifteen minutes of the game to record the 3-0 victory.
Faith now turns their attention to top ranked Northland International University, whom they will host on Friday. That game is set to kick off at 4 PM.
