Track and Field Celebrates 4-Year Seniors
Kristin Yuan, the daughter of Steven and Nancy Yuan, is a 4-year senior for Eagles Track and Field. Kristin is majoring in Organizational Leadership with an ESL Certification as well as World Missions with a Biblical Counseling Emphasis. Yuan's event has been the 400 m hurdles. She has qualified for nationals in this event for three consecutive years, including this year. Kristin has also been a team captain from 2020-2023.
Kristin is heavily involved in her church. She is a youth leader, does special music and piano accompaniment, teaches in children's church, and serves in Whirleybirds (an after-school outreach ministry on Wednesdays). Each year Kristin has also enjoyed serving Saydel High School by running their home track meets with her teammates.
When asked what she has learned while at Faith, Kristin said, "importance of having godly friends who push me towards Christ and mentors to provide accountability and wisdom."
Her favorite memory of track and field was when she got ice cream every day before her first national championship and then watched Tyler Carson win his event in the 110 high hurdles. One of her favorite parts of track is spending time with her teammates.
Kristin would like to thank her family for listening to her talk about track and field all spring, Coach Long for being an example of patient and gentle godliness, as well as Rebecca Reinertson and Tyler Carson for teaching her how to run, not jump, the hurdles. She would also like to thank all her teammates, past and present, who have made her track experience so great.
Jeremy Kamberger, the son of John and Mary Kamberger, is a 4-year senior for Eagle's Track and Field. Jeremy is majoring in Pastoral Studies with an emphasis in Youth Ministry. Jeremy's current event is the 800m run.
Jeremy has been involved in middle school and youth ministry at his church. He has also enjoyed serving with the track and field team each spring when they run the Saydel High School home meets.
While at Faith, Jeremy has learned how to study the Word of God on his own to find answers for what the truth of the Bible says rather than what the world tells us to believe. He has also learned, "what it means to be on a team and push each other spiritually as well as physically."
His favorite memory from track and field has been the team comradery and friendships built over consistent good workouts.
He would like to thank his teammates for encouraging and pushing him to do his best, specifically Kristin Yuan for all of the fun memories over the last 4 years.
The Eagle's Track and Field team will have their final meet of the year on Thursday (4/27) and Friday (4/28). For more information visit the link here.
