
Wirges Signs with Eagles
Ankeny, IA – Codie Wirges, of Waterloo, NE, has committed to the Eagle's women's volleyball team, signing her letter of intent for the 2023-2024 season.
Codie is the daughter of Kent and Kelley Wirges and comes to the Eagle's from coach Kendra Eveland's high school team at Omaha Christian Academy. Wirges received honors in her high school career, lettering all four years, including All Conference ('22-'23), Honorable Mention ('22-'23). She holds the record for most kills in the season (256), and averages 3.7 k/s with an 84.4% serving percentage.
When asked what Codie was most looking forward to at Faith she said, "I love being in an environment of fellow believers… ." She hopes to bring hard work to the Eagle's team, but is excited to learn from her coaches and teammates!
"We are excited to be signing Codie as a member of our volleyball team," noted coach Lanny Nihart. "We will be looking to utilize her front row skills either as an outside hitter or right side attacher… Codie is the type of disciplined player we are always looking for to continue our Eagle volleyball success."
Codie will pursue a degree in Organizational Leadership with a minor in Administration while at Faith.
