Lopez, Tolosa, and Whitcher Sign for the Eagles
Men's soccer sign 6 athletes for the 2023-2024 season.
Ankeny, IA – Joshua Lopez, of Millbrook, AL, has committed to the Eagle men's soccer program, signing his letter of intent for the 2023-2024 season.
Joshua is the son of John and Cindy Lopez and comes to the Eagles from coach John Lopez's high school team at Victory Christian Academy. Lopez has been a vital player to his current team, earning the team MVP award. When asked what he is most looking forward to at
Faith he said, "Being in a Godly environment where I can grow and learn while building good friendships." Joshua is going to bring a strong mentality and attitude for pushing towards team goals on the field.
"Josh has a great soccer IQ," noted coach Gary Backous. "I am excited about the maturity and experience he will bring to the team that will help him to contribute early and often." Joshua is expected to find his home in the midfield this fall.
Joshua will pursue a degree in Organizational Leadership, with an emphasis in Sports Management while at Faith.
Silas Tolosa, of Owatonna, MN, has committed to the Eagle men's soccer program, signing his letter of intent for the 2023-2024 season.
Silas is the son of Matthew and Nicole Tolosa, and comes to the Eagles from coach Jacob Stilwell's high school team at Owatonna Christian School. Tolossa has been a consistent player for his team earning 2nd Team All Conference, All Tourney, and MVP in past seasons.
When asked about what he is most looking forward to while attending Faith, Tolossa said "Godly friendships, sports and the college life!" He hopes to grow in his soccer skills and to bring good ball movement and a team player mentality to the Eagles.
"I still remember the first time I saw Silas play…I knew he had the technical ability and tactical understanding to be a great fit at Faith. He will be a midfielder or a forward for us this fall," noted coach Gary Backous.
Silas will pursue a degree in Organizational Leadership while at Faith.
Carter Whitcher, of Ankeny, IA, has committed to the Eagle men's soccer program, signing his letter of intent for the 2023-2024 season.
Carter is the son of David and Melissa Whitcher and comes from coach Dakota Keul's high school team Grand View Christian. Whitcher has been a teammate of great Christian character and is most looking forward to "the Christian enviornment and Bible classes that are offered" at Faith.
Carter is going to be a trustworthy teammate and bring a good work ethic to support his team this fall.
"I am excited to have Carter in the program," noted coach Gary Backous. "He is a technical player with good quickness. He learns fast and has been fun to watch develop through our high school summer camps. He will most likely contribute as a midfielder for us this fall."
Carter will pursue a 2 Year Bible degree while at Faith.
