2021 Cross Country Season Review
The 2021 Cross Country season was one for the record books! The men's team won the Kansas Christian meet to start off the season, and the women's team qualified as a scoring team to compete at the NCCAA National Meet.
The women's team consisted of Laney Jones, Emily Anderson, Rachel Franklin, and MaryAnn Hendrickson, as well as two members of the soccer team, Kierstan Fritz and Kristin Yuan. Both did an outstanding job in both sports, as both the women's soccer and cross country teams advanced to their respective national events!
The men's team included Josiah Brown, Ethan Wooten, Isaiah Crute, and Dawson Woolett. Unfortunately, Dawson suffered a season ending hip injury not long after the first meet, and Isaiah struggled with ankle pain throughout the season. This was Josiah's senior year, and he will be greatly missed next season. Josiah, Ethan, and Dawson all qualified to run at the NCCAA National Meet at various meets during the season.
Faith had the privilege of hosting the region's first ever Regional Cross Country, and enjoyed having many friends and family on campus supporting our teams! God blessed us with fantastic weather for the meet, which everyone enjoyed. To top the event off, the Eagles women's team qualified for the NCCAA national meet for the first time in school history!
The team worked hard all season long, and ended with 8 runners competing well at Nationals in November. The women's team placed 6th overall at the meet. Kierstan Fritz and Kristin Yuan were both recognized as NCCAA Scholar Athletes for their work in the classroom.
