
Cross Country Teams Finish First and Second at Falcon Classic
DESOTO, Kansas—The Faith Eagles cross country teams traveled across state lines for their first races of the season and migrated back to Iowa with first and second place trophies on Saturday. In the race known as The Falcon Classic, the Eagles owned the day.
Ethan Wooten paced the men to the team trophy with a first place finish in his first collegiate cross country meet with a time of 18:56.20, besting Calvary's Coleson by nearly 8 seconds. Dawson Woolett boosted the Eagles' team totals with a third place finish in his first collegiate meet as well with a time of 19:36.80. Josiah Brown finished in eighth place, while Isaiah Crute finished 13th.
Laney Jones paced the Eagles women's team with a time of 19:27.90, good for fifth place, overall. Emily Anderson placed in the top ten with a time of 21:39.50, while Rachel Franklin and MaryAnn Hendrickson helped the women's team earn enough points for a second-place finish as a team.
Faith travels to Grinnell on Saturday, September 11 for the Les Duke Invitational.
