Historic Season Ends On High Note for Cross Country
JOPLIN, Missouri--It was windy and in the upper 40s in Joplin for the start of the National Cross Country Meet. The course was in great shape, and was lined with lots of mature trees that helped block some of the wind.
The women's team began the event, marking the first time Faith has competed as a full team at the NCCAA National Meet. It is also the first time Faith has had athletes compete in multiple fall sports, as Kierstan Fritz and Kristin Yuan are members of Faith's soccer team that qualified for Nationals as well.
Fritz led the way for the Lady Eagles, placing 15th with a time of 21:07. Yuan was next at 22:07, Laney Jones in 23:12, Emily Anderson in 24:10, Rachel Franklin in 26:57, and MaryAnn Hendrickson in 29:17. All ran a great race, finishing in sixth place as a team.
Senior Josiah Brown led the men, finishing 32nd with a time of 30:37, and sophomore Ethan Wooten completed the 8k course in 30:59.
Everyone competed well, had a lot of fun, and gave God the glory for the ability to run! It was a great culmination to a fantastic season. Thank you to all who prayed for us!
