Eagles Soar to Fourth Straight Win
Like the autumn leaves, the Faith Eagles women's soccer team is peaking, and at just the right time. After a 3-0 shutout victory on Saturday, the Eagles have concluded their regular season with a four-game winning streak. The fourth-ranked Eagles now wait for their regional opponent which has yet to be determined. Regional play is November 2-5 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Faith put together another dominant performance on Saturday. Three first-half goals were all that were needed as the defense pitched its fourth consecutive shutout. Since September 15, the Eagles have outscored their opponents 34-6.
Kierstan Fritz got Faith on the scoreboard first with a goal at the 24:15 mark in the first half with her first goal of the season. Abigail Speichinger answered four minutes later with her sixth goal of the year to make it 2-0. Demi DelPrior put the icing on the cake with her team-high eighth goal of the 2022 campaign to give Faith a three-goal cushion heading into halftime.
The Eagles concluded the regular season at 6-6 and are peaking at just the right time. Coach Barron will look to keep his team sharp with a two week break, and will utilize that time to get his team healthy and ready for their regional matchup. Faith has a very real chance to advance to its second consecutive NCCAA National Championships, and third in four years as it seeks the school's first-ever national title.
