ANKENY, Iowa—The fourth-ranked Faith Eagles women's soccer team has officially hit its stride, winning its third consecutive game Tuesday afternoon with a convincing 7-0 win over Spurgeon College.
Demi DelPrior, a freshman, scored a hat trick to lead the Eagles' attack along with four other Eagles who put the ball into the net during the 90 minutes of action. Brenna Penrod scored the first goal of the game 14 minutes in, followed by DelPrior's first goal two minutes later. Kristin Yuan made it 3-0 later in the first half, and Abigail Speichinger put the game nearly out of reach by halftime with a goal at the 38-minute mark.
The second half was all Eagles still as DelPrior put two more into the net, along with Ali Lundberg, who scored Faith's seventh and final goal at the 83-minute mark.
With the win, the Eagles have won three straight games, and five of their last seven. They have outscored their opponents by an incredible 27-4 margin over that stretch. Faith's next game is Saturday, October 15, against Ecclesia College at 2 p.m. in Ankeny.
