A Banner Day for Eagles Track and Field at National Meet
GREENVILLE, Illinois--The Faith Eagles took advantage of a beautiful day of weather—mid 60s, sunny, and very little breeze—to turn in some banner results for track and field at the NCCAA National Championships on Thursday.
Tyler Carson led the way for Thursday's events with an outstanding performance in the 110 hurdle prelims. He won his heat and has the fastest time going into Friday's finals, breaking his own school record with a time of 15.03.
Sierra Udd was up next, throwing a 36.79 in prelims for the discus throw, qualifying for finals. After the top nine throwers finished the finals flight, Sierra finished in sixth place overall.
Kristin Yuan rounded out the day with a new personal record in the 400 hurdles prelims with a time of 74.39, fast enough for eighth place after the preliminary heats, earning her a spot in finals.
"I was very pleased with the efforts and attitudes that each of the athletes portrayed throughout the competition today," said Coach Long. "I am looking forward to watching Kristin and Tyler compete in Friday's finals to finish off a great Track and Field season!"
