Multiple Eagles Set PR's at Statesman Invite
OSKALOOSA, Iowa--The Faith Eagles track and field teams enjoyed some excellent weather conditions this past weekend as they competed at the Statesman Invite at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Jeremy Kamberger and Kristin Yuan both ran well in the 200-meter dash with times of 29.3 seconds and 29.98 seconds respectively. Yuan also set a PR in the 400-meter with a time of 1:06.68, good for a fourth place finish.
In longer distance events, Ethan Wooten set PRs in both the 800 and 1500 with times of 2:10 and 4:25. Zach Lobb ran his first steeplechase in a time of 13:36, and Laney Jones improved her steeplechase PR by 10 seconds to 14:05.
In throwing and jumping events, Kyla Rounds and Sierra Udd didn't set PRs, but threw well, while Emily Anderson competed in the long jump for the first time jumping 3.63 meters.
The track and field season has entered the home stretch as the Eagles have just three meets remaining before the NCCAA Championships in Greenville, Illinois, on May 13 and 14. Faith's next meet is Friday, April 23, at the Kip Janvrin Invitational in Indianola, Iowa, with events beginning at 10 a.m.
