KANSAS CITY, Missouri—The Faith Eagles men's soccer team has yet to play a home game in their 2022 campaign, but have still managed to begin the season with a 2-1 record thanks to a pair of wins in the state of Missouri over the weekend.
Faith defeated Ozark Christian College 3-1 on Friday night and made their way north for a 2-0 victory on Saturday over Calvary University.
After falling behind 1-0 at Ozark, Joshua Forgie got the Eagles on the board for the first time this season with a goal at the 19:02 mark in the first half. James Busenitz connected for two more goals before halftime to give Faith a 3-1 lead which held until the final buzzer. The Eagles outshot the Ambassadors 18-13 (11-6 shots on goal).
Forgie jumpstarted the Eagles again on Saturday with his second goal of the year at the 33:33 mark in the first half to give Faith a 1-0 lead over Calvary University. Midway through the second half, Carson Odle scored his first goal of the season to increase Faith's lead to two goals—a margin that held through the duration of the contest.
The Eagles can build off their momentum with their first home games of the season this Friday and Saturday. Faith plays Barclay College at 4 p.m. on Friday and concludes the weekend with a difficult matchup against Manhattan Christian College at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
