Lady Eagles Drop Home Opener
The Faith Baptist Bible College women's basketball team hosted Union College on November 12th to open up their season. Faith lost the game 37-53. Faith is now 0-1 on the year.
The Lady Eagles came out firing in the first few minutes thanks to two three pointers from freshman Tori Odle and senior Carissa Grogg. With another basket, Faith found themselves up 8-2. After that point, Union began to control the game, and Faith found it difficult to get baskets facing a 12-25 deficit headed into the half. The second half was more even as Union won the half 28-25. Being the first game of the year, Faith was able to take a few positives from the game as they look to improve on the season. The Lady Eagles were able to out rebound their opponent by 10 rebounds, as well as shot a better percentage in the second half.
The Lady Eagles were led in scoring by freshman Tori Odle with 12 points and three steals. Sophomore Ashley Pearson led the team with 14 rebounds, to go along with her eight points.
The team's next game will be in Manhattan, KS on Friday November 15th at 5:30 PM against Manhattan Christian College. Then the team will turn right around and play Barclay College of Haviland, KS on November 16th at 12:00 PM. Both games are against conference opponents.
