Watertown, WI - On Saturday the Eagles were on the road playing the Sabercats from Maranatha Baptist Bible College. The out-of-state rivalry made for an exciting match.
The Eagles were able to strike 1st in the 23rd minute as midfielder Eliana Fritz took matters into her own hands and scored a goal. The Sabercats had their chances but the Eagles were able to keep them from scoring. The Eagles went into half leading 1-0
In the 2nd half, the Eagles outshot the Sabercats 6-4 and recorded more corner kicks at 5-3. The Eagles' mission was to shut the Sabercats out. That mission succeeded as they kept the Sabercats out of their net and recorded a shutout. It turns out that Fritz's goal was all the Eagles needed to win as they escaped 1-0.
The Eagles improve to 5-5-2 (1-0 in MCCC play). The Eagles are back at home on Thursday at 1:30 pm CDT as they face the Saints from Randall University.
