Voll Signs With Eagles
Ankeny, IA - Matthew Voll has committed to the Eagle men's basketball program, signing his letter of intent Friday for the 2021-2022 season.
Matt is the son of Timothy and Erica Voll, and comes to the Eagles from head coach Jay Nihart's Ankeny Christian Academy team, just one block down the road from the Eagles home court. Matt was a starter on an Ankeny Christian team that went 15-6 overall last year, winning the Bluegrass Conference for the fourth year in a row.
Voll connected on 38% of his shots beyond the arc during his senior season and led the team in rebounding. He was a Bluegrass Sports Talk 2nd team All Conference selection, and was successful in the classroom as well, receiving the Bluegrass Conference All-Academic Award the past two seasons.
"I've enjoyed getting to know Matt over the past couple of years. Matt has really grown as a young man and wants to continue to grow in his spiritual walk while he pursues a degree and continues his basketball career. I'm excited the Lord has led him to Faith to continue that pursuit of Christ!" noted coach Fincham.
When asked about his decision to attend Faith, Matt said "I'm most looking forward to growing in my walk with God and being around a family type atmosphere. I look forward to working hard and filling my role to the best of my abilities as I seek to honor and glorify Christ on and off the court."
Matt plans to pursue a degree in Organizational Leadership.
