Men Top Century Mark
The Eagle men topped the century mark for the first time this season with a 107-71 win on the road versus Nebraska Christian College. Faith is now 3-4 on the season.
The Eagles jumped out to an early lead and looked to have the game in hand, leading 25-11 eight minutes into the game. A series of poor decisions over the next several minutes including seven turnovers during that time gave Nebraska Christian new life, as they rallied back to take a one point lead, 32-33 with five minutes remaining. Out of a timeout the Eagles clamped down, quickly regaining and extending the lead with a 21-4 run to close out he half up by 16. The Eagles pushed the lead to 27 five minutes into the second half, cruising to the win as all men dressed saw minutes.
The Eagles finished with six men in double digits. Cody Chaffin scored 27 points, while Aaron Leistikow added 20 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and three steals. John Acree came off the bench to score 14 points, while Jason Scheps had 12 off the bench. Tim O'Tool added 12 of his own, while Eric Young scored 10. Jordan Marshall had eight assists on the night.
Faith turns around tomorrow to host Grand View University in an exhibition contest at 7:30 PM in the Nettleton Center. Grand View defeated Faith 104-62 earlier in the Eagle's first game of the year.
