
Eagles Compete Well at NCCAA Nationals
(Warsaw, IN) - Faith cross country traveled to Indiana to compete at the NCCAA National Championship meet.
The Eagles ended their 2024 season with both teams racing in the NCCAA DII National Championship Meet on November 15th. The race took place in Warsaw, IN for the second year in a row so the Eagles were familiar with the course and environment.
The women's team ran first this year, with their sights set on continuing to build on their regular season success. As a team, the Eagles set a new season high of 1:57:14.0 and earned a fourth place finish, jumping three spots from the previous season and securing their best finish in program history.
Carlie Blevins (19:54.0), Alees Stephens (26:07.0), Jenessa Anderson (28:45.4), and Vanya Kliewer (29:30.7) all set PR's during the race, while Becca Hulinsky )21:10.6), Elizabeth Beenken (26:24.3) and Tina Lange (29:21.4) all ran season highs. Lydia Mueller (23:54.8) and Karynna Ward (26:07.3) both ran well to contribute to the team score and earning the fourth place finish for the Eagles. Carlie Blevins and Becca Hulinsky highlighted the Eagles success by placing top ten and both earning All-American honors.
The men's team ran next, with all of the runners improving their times significantly from the previous race. The Eagles ran a team time of 2:49:53.0, two seconds away from their season high and placing them 8th in the nation. Titus Loween set a new PR of 31:19.8 to lead the team, while Owen Festler (32:19.), Ethan Smith (33:55.3), Andrew Hackley (35:49.5), and Ben Hackley (36:28.6) ran faster than they had in the previous two races.
Overall both teams competed well and honored Christ with their efforts. Well done, Eagles!
