
Eagles Post Solid Times, Smith Qualifies for Nationals
(Ottumwa, IA) - The Eagles ran all around solid races as Ethan Smith reached the qualifying time for NCCAA Nationals.
The Eagles ran in the Indian Hills Invitational, as the women's team ran their first 5K back after three straight 6K races.
The women's team posted fast times, as Jenessa Anderson (30:05.0) and Alees Stephens (26:33.0) both posted PR's in the race. Lydia Mueller (23:31.3), Karynna Ward (24:51.5), and Tina Lange (30:04.9) all ran season highs, and Carlie Blevins (19:57.3) posted another 10th place finish and came one second shy of setting a new PR. Becca Hulinsky put in good effort, finishing her race in 23:56.5 as she helped lead the team to a new season high of 1:58:49.6.
The men's team sent all 5 runners for the second time this season and improved their team time to 2:47:15.5. Titus Loween (32:00.8) led the Eagles with a new PR, with Owen Festler (32:49.2) following close behind. Ethan Smith reached the NCCAA Nationals qualifying time, running his race in 33:06.5, and Andrew Hackley (34:18.2) and Ben Hackley (35:00.8) both set new season highs during the race.
