Eagles Compete at NCCAA Super Regional
(Dubuque, IA) - Faith Cross Country ran against all NCCAA D2 schools for the first time this season
The Eagles ran in the NCCAA Super Regional Meet, with the women's team placing fourth overall.
This was the first all-NCCAA race of the season, which gave the Eagles a good chance to see where they stand against runners at their level. While both teams posted slower times than normal due in part to the hills Dubuque boasts, it was a good test as cross country has one final tune-up before Nationals.
Carlie Blevins earned a fourth place finish and a spot on the All-Region team with her time of 21:11.8 as the top seven runners earned honors. This was Carlie's first top-5 finish of the year and her fifth top-10 finish in 6 races so far. Elizabeth Beenken posted a season high of 26:59.6, and Vanya Kliewer ran her first career 5k and finished in 31:32.4, setting a PR in the race. Becca Hulinsky (23:31.0) finished second for the Eagles, followed closely behind by Lydia Mueller (24:25.1). Alees Stephens (29:00.2), Tina Lange (30:42.8), and Jenessa Anderson (30:36.5) finished out the race for the Eagles. Faith came just 3 points shy of third place with 85 team points overall.
Titus Loween led the men's team, coming 8 seconds shy of a PR with a time of 32:07.6, and Owen Festler (33:09.9), Andrew Hackley (36:14.7) and Ben Hackley (37:01.2) all put in solid effort on the day. The Eagles only ran with five men due to unforseen circumstances so they were unable to post a team time.
Up Next: The Eagles travel to Joplin, MO for Ozark's Last Chance Meet on Saturday, November 2nd at 9:00 AM (Both).
