Volleyball Provides Ministry to Alpha Women’s Center
ANKENY, Iowa--The Eagles volleyball team took a break from the court this past Wednesday, October 2, to volunteer ministry help to the Alpha Women's Center in Ankeny. The team provided assistance with sorting of clothes, health care products, and baby items. In addition to the sorting, the team assisted staff with cleaning office areas, counseling areas, and window cleaning.
"It is always good to provide help to those agencies who are like-minded as we are in discipleship and demonstrating Christ's love. It also provided our team members an outlet to taking their minds off themselves and placing their focus on helping others," noted coach Lanny Nihart.
The Alpha Women's Center is a Christian agency serving young women who unexpectedly find themselves expecting the birth of a child. The agency provides a lifeline for more than 500 women and families in the Ankeny and metro Des Moines community struggling to meet financial needs.
