Eagles Fall to Polars

Minneapolis, MN - On Thursday the Eagles were on the road playing against the Polars from Crown College. For having a match in late fall and so far north, there was fantastic weather which made for a beautiful game night under the lights. 

The 1st half started off in the Polars favor. Barely a minute into the game they nearly scored a goal. The Polars did not take long to get on the board as midfielder Isaac Schulz scored a goal in the 11th minute. The Eagles were able to battle back and keep the Polars out of the goal for the rest of the 1st half. The Eagles competed and kept the game close as they were able to go into halftime only trailing 1-0.

The 2nd half started out well for the Eagles as they connected quite a few passing strings. Unfortunately, the Eagles had trouble getting shooting opportunities against the stifling Polars' defense. That was not the case for the Polars, as they had many shots and scored 4 goals in the 2nd half. Midfielder Isaac Schulz had 2 of their 4 2nd half goals in the 49th and 60th minute to record a hat trick. Defender Omar Navarro scored in the 65th minute (assisted by Tade Geving & Isaac Schulz) and midfielder Arthur Borges scored in the 89th minute (assisted by Omar Navarro). 

The Polars explosive offense and oppressive defense proved too much for the Eagles to handle as the Polars handed the Eagles their 2nd loss in a row defeating them 5-0. This loss puts the Eagles record at 10-3-1 (5-1 in MCCC play). The Eagles are on the road again this Saturday at 11:00am CDT as they face the Wolfpack from Oak Hills College.
